RSL Active is a program from RSL Victoria, supported by the Victorian State Government, providing a range of events and activities for the younger veteran community. 

RSL provides a way to connect with other veterans and develop social networks, share ideas, tell stories, enhance support circles, and improve physical and mental health.

RSL Active is open to all veterans and their immediate families*.  Membership of the RSL is not required to participate in any events.

As 2019 draws to a close, our RSL Active team would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been an eventful and successful year.

With the cooperation and support from a number of RSL Sub-Branches, we were able to deliver over 50 activities throughout the State, with every activity/event being recognised as a means for veterans and their families to reduce social isolation, encourage mateship, stay active and ultimately have fun.

Just some of the activities held in 2019 included:

Barefoot bowling, Camps, Equine Therapy, Archery, Rock climbing, Yoga, Road Cycling, Fitness programs, Stand up paddle-boarding just to name a few.

A huge thank you and happy holidays to all involved in making RSL Active so great in 2019!

Upcoming Events: 

Saturdays 9 November 2019 - 29 February 2020.  Stand Up Paddleboarding - Altona

Altona RSL invites all current serving, ex- serving veterans and immediate families and first responders to join us on Saturday mornings for Stand Up Paddle Boarding @ 9.30am.

Meet at the Sun Seeker Caravan on the corner of the Esplanade and Mount Street, Altona.

You can expect to enjoy the sun, sea and sand (dependant on skill levels) with family and friends. This event will have you laughing over coffee on completion.
Spots are limited to 10 people per session.

11 January – 15 February 2020. Six Week Fitness Program- Notting Hill

Mana Fitness Solutions - Notting Hill  

RSL Active has teamed up with the guys at Mana Fitness Solutions to offer Veterans the opportunity to join in a six week fitness program beginning at 8.30am Saturday 11 January 2020.

Additionally the program offers the following sessions:
MON: 9.30am Fat Blast; 6.00pm Body Blitz   
TUE: 6.00am Combat 
WED: 9.30am Fat Blast; 6.00pm Body Blitz  
THU: 6.00am Circuit Fitness; 6.00pm Boxing   
SAT:  8.00am High Octane
SUN: 9.00am Functional Fusion   

This is a great way to stay active, shed a few pounds, meet like-minded people and enjoy the benefits of a results based gym program  

The program is free to Veterans however family and friends are encouraged to come along at a cost of $19.95 per week (payable directly to Mana Fitness Solutions).

14 February 2020-  Barefoot Bowls:  Greensborough RSL

Time: 5.30pm - 7.30pm

Where: Greensborough Bowling Club, 178 Liat Way, Greensborough

Cost: This event is free for current and ex-service members of the ADF and their immediate family. 

General Public - $6 payable to the Greensborough Bowling club.

Includes sausage sizzle.
