About RSL Victoria
Since 1916, RSL Victoria has proudly supported veterans and their families and invested in their communities.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Supporting veterans and their families
For more than a hundred years, the RSL in Victoria has proudly supported Victorian veterans and their loved ones. It is our belief that every veteran should live with respect and dignity, with meaningful connections to their community and Australian Defence Force family.
Since our mission began in 1916, the experiences and needs of veterans have continually evolved. Our goal is to be responsive to these changes, while always honouring our core mission: to provide the best possible support and services to all generations of veterans and their families in Victoria.
To achieve this mission, we acknowledge Australian Defence Force service and seek to foster gratitude, support and understanding in the Victorian community and beyond. We commemorate those who have made sacrifices in service of the nation or its allies. We advocate for the rights and entitlements of all veterans. We encourage conversation, camaraderie and a sense of belonging among those who have served. And we honour and respect the past, while taking active steps to support people’s futures.
Our vision is to support every veteran, regardless of their circumstances or location. Veterans and their families are warmly welcomed in 263 Sub-Branches across Victoria, where a wide range of events, services and facilities are available. Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, a friend, or want to show gratitude for the people who have served our country and its allies, RSL Victoria invites you to our united community.
As a member-based organisation and part of the Returned & Services League of Australia, we know we are stronger together. Each year in Victoria alone, over 170,000 members, thousands of dedicated volunteers, and many more Victorians participate in and support our mission.
