75th anniversary of National Service 1951 – 1972 – National Commemorative Service

February 14 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

On National Servicemen’s Day, 14 February 2026, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of National Service with a national commemorative service in the Great Hall at the Australian Parliament House in Canberra.

This anniversary is an opportunity to honour the more than 280,000 Australian men that were called up for national service in the 1951–1959 and 1965–1972 schemes. We remember their dedication, commitment to service and sacrifice.

As National Servicemen’s Day approaches, we invite you to submit a personal reflection commemorating national servicemen on DVA’s Wall of Remembrance. The ‘Wall’ is a living, evolving, community-led tribute for all Australians to share a reflection or memory of a loved one connected to the Australian Defence Force.

We encourage all to share details of this national commemorative service with members of the veteran community, and anyone who wishes to support and honour national servicemen.

When: 14 February 2026, 11:00am

Where: The Great Hall, Australian Parliament House, Parliament Dr, Canberra, ACT, 2600
