For more than 100 years, RSL Victoria has stood beside veterans and their families through every stage of life after service.

Today, that support is more important than ever. Many veterans continue to face challenges including homelessness, financial hardship, social isolation and mental health struggles.

Through practical support, advocacy, wellbeing programs and community connection, we are committed to ensuring no veteran is left behind.

Our partnerships help turn that commitment into action, creating lasting impact for veterans and their families across Victoria.

RSL Victoria is, at its core, a veterans’ support organisation.

While many people recognise the RSL through local clubs and venues, as Australia’s first ex-service organisation, our true purpose is supporting veterans and their families through advocacy, welfare, commemoration and connection. The venues help fund that mission, however the identity of RSL Victoria has always been about honouring service with action, standing beside veterans not just on ANZAC Day, but every day.

APPEALS

RSL Victoria delivers two major annual fundraising campaigns, each with its own distinct purpose and meaning. Together, both appeals connect commemoration with tangible impact, ensuring veterans are supported not only in memory, but through meaningful action year-round.

ANZAC Appeal

Partnership Case Studies

AFL | combining sport, passion and spirit to elevate the ANZAC Appeal

AFL and RSL Victoria partnered in 2026 to deliver the biggest ANZAC Appeal Round in the 31-year history of the relationship. For the first time, all 18 AFL clubs supported the campaign, with every team wearing the ANZAC Appeal logo and the majority featuring commemorative guernseys across the round. The partnership united clubs, players, fans and RSL volunteers nationwide to raise vital funds and awareness for veterans and their families. Through match-day fundraising, storytelling and commemorative moments, the AFL platform helped connect new generations with the significance of service while supporting programs focused on veteran wellbeing, advocacy and transition to civilian life.

It’s a really proud moment to have my employer Woolworths support the ANZAC Appeal in a genuine way that will raise funds to help those veterans doing it tough.

I was fortunate to land a job with Woolworths that became a 17-year career – but not everyone is as lucky as me.

They (Greensborough RSL Sub-Branch) came to see me while I was in hospital, and said they’re here to support me, whatever I need. They approached my mum and said, ‘We’re here to support you, however you need it’.

When I walked out of that office, I felt like I was floating, knowing that we were going to keep the house and we weren’t going to be homeless. I got into the car and cried because of all the help that was available. If it wasn’t for the RSL, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I’d either be on the streets, or I’d be dead.
