RSL POPPIES NOW AVAILABLE AT WOOLWORTHS AND OFFICEWORKS STORES

RSL poppies are now available for purchase at all Woolworths and Officeworks stores across Victoria.
Funds raised through the sale of poppies go towards the RSL’s annual Poppy Appeal, which aims to raise funds to support serving and ex-serving men and women of Australia’s Defence Force and their families when in need.
November 2021 marks 100 years since RSL Volunteers first began selling the red poppy to raise money to support veterans.
RSL Victoria’s State President, Dr Robert Webster OAM, said. “The poppy appeal is a tradition that we should all be proud of, it represents 100 years of Australia giving back to those, who through their defence force service, have given so much to us.”
RSL Victoria’s Fundraising Manager Peter Smith OAM added “I fundamentally hold the view that our veterans and our veteran families importantly, have given great service to the nation, irrespective of their length of service, the type of service, the location of their service. If they’ve put the uniform on in the service of this country, they deserve the support of the country.”
“We understand times are tough for everyone. If you’ve got the capacity to give, please give generously to the Poppy Appeal this November knowing that your gift will change a veterans life,” Mr Smith said.
