Volunteering at Vasey RSL Care

Volunteers are an integral part of Vasey RSL Care and the aged care provider welcomes the different skill sets and experiences that you can bring to the organisation. Volunteering will give you an opportunity to connect with your community and make a difference in the lives of residents.

Vasey RSL Care is currently seeking volunteers to support aged care residents with pastoral care activities, such as helping residents with Zoom calls and Facetime calls with their loved ones and assisting residents to have walks and get fresh air outdoors. These pastoral care activities are essential to residents health and wellbeing and volunteers supporting residents through these activities may find it an extremely rewarding experience.

For more information about volunteering with Vasey RSL Care please contact Veteran Central (VetCen) via 1300 MILVET (1300 645 838).

Q & A with Vasey RSL Care about their employment and volunteering opportunities

Can You Help?

Vasey RSL Care is looking for willing people, either to volunteer or do casual work at our aged care homes.

Why do you need this?

Due to the pandemic, we have many staff in self-isolation, either because their family member or housemate has tested positive, or they have tested positive. This is unavoidable with the very high community virus cases currently in Victoria.

Do you need people with qualifications?

No – you just need to be physically able to spend quite a lot of time on your feet. If you do have caring qualifications, we also need you!

Are there any other requirements?

All applicants must be fully vaccinated (i.e. two or three doses).
Applicants will be police checked.
Applicants must be prepared to have regular virus tests if needed.

What are the hours/days?

We have a lot of flexibility – contact Veteran Central via 1300 MILVET (1300 645 838) for details.

How much is the pay?

For those looking for paid casual work, an hourly rate will be negotiated. Please contact Veteran Central via 1300 MILVET (1300 645 838) for details.
