Title of the Position: Sales Rep - Technical Products

Hours/Type: Full-Time

Location: Melbourne (plus travel requirements)

Role Summary/Brief Description: This position is with Teleco Automation Oceania, a B2B wholesale company that specialises in remote control technology.

As an overview, their customers are manufacturers and suppliers of automatic awnings, louvres, pergolas and other motorised roof and shade structures. They also offer transmitters, receivers, dimmers, controllers and plug & play lighting solutions.

They distribute and support products across Australia and NZ. Their Australian office/warehouse was established in 2015, however they are part of a large multinational group of companies with head office in Italy who market its products to more than 40 countries, on 5 continents.

This opportunity requires a proactive individual with a hunter focus, who loves a challenge, can manage their own pipeline and wants to build a future for themselves in sales.

This is a true on the road sales role which will see you working primarily across the Melbourne region but also spending time in SA, WA, TAS and bimonthly meetings in QLD.

There is lots of training and mentoring to support you with continuing the growth of these markets from your Sales Manager and Director.

Whilst there is travel in this role you will not have long periods of time away from home.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying opportunities through networking
  • Building leads through phone and face to face meetings
  • Being a great listener and adding value to customers by understanding their business needs and aligning these to relevant products
  • Independently managing a full sales cycle from discovery to close

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years previous experience in either customer service or internal sales, ideally working with a technical type product
  • Full Australian drivers’ licence
  • A confident and professional personality who naturally builds rapport with clients
  • Ability to manage a diverse and busy workload
  • Self-learner – you quickly learn technical information and confidently demonstrate it
