Position: Bus Driver

Position Description:

This position is responsible for transporting employees to and from work at RMAA Australia in Mickleham, in Melbourne’s outer- north. Driving a vehicle or mini bus the driver will make scheduled stops to pick up and drop off passengers each morning and afternoon. A focus on punctuality and safety is a priority for this position.

Overview of duties:

· Follow a planned bus route making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengers.
· Transport RMAA employees safely to their work place in a courteous and timely manner, arriving before 7am and departing from 3.30pm each day.
· Operating the bus in accordance with relevant road laws, applicable legislation and company policies.

· Not having any alcohol or drugs present in blood or breathe immediately before, or while driving the vehicles.
· Informing the Recruitment and Community Engagement Coordinator of any safety issues discovered during the operation of the vehicles and reporting any damage, defect or repairs needed to the vehicle immediately.
· Immediately report any matters relevant to the currency of your driver’s licence, including any criminal charges or offence health conditions or medications, which may affect capacity to drive
· Completing a daily report at the end of each shift, including a safety check of the bus, making sure the bus is clean and filling out a log book.
· Respecting and following the organisation’s policies and procedures, including completing travel and time sheets and attending relevant meetings

Skills/Qualifications:

· A full Victorian Driver’s license, with no restrictions
· An open, caring & non-judgemental approach to supporting clients who are using the service.
· All drivers must undertake a police check and must not have had recent or frequent police record relating to driving under the influence of alcohol, traffic offences such as speeding or unsafe driving, assault or child abuse offences
· Drivers need to undergo a health/medical check and the driver assessment

Salary and Conditions:

· Conditions will be in accordance with the Social, Community, Home and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010, Level 1 P1, $23,16 and an overtime rate $40.53 when working before 6.00am
· Part time employment available for morning and afternoon shifts
· This is a time limited contract until the end of December 2023.
· An above award salary plus super and leave loading, is offered.
