Remembrance Day

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we commemorate.

Every Remembrance Day, RSL Victoria hosts a number of events across our state to help Victorians commemorate those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in global conflicts – and those who serve today.

At 11am on 11 November, 1918, guns fell silent over Europe after four years of relentless fighting – the Great War was finally over.

Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of the Armistice which ended World War I. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Australians pause to remember the people who have served in all global conflicts. We also honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during their service.

On Remembrance Day, we encourage everyone to pause, remember, and reflect. Here is how you can commemorate, wherever you are on 11 November.
