Military Compensation Advocacy

Your health, wellbeing and quality of life is important to us. If you are thinking of submitting a claim to DVA for an injury or illness, we recommend our advocacy service.

EXPERT ADVOCACY FOR VETERANS

The RSL in Victoria is dedicated to helping veterans and their families secure the benefits they deserve. If you are looking for support and advocacy, our Compensation Advocates will help you navigate the process of filing claims and appeals with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

Our advocates provide a listening ear and free expert advice to any veteran with an injury, illness or health-related condition sustained during service. We believe you and your loved ones deserve a fair hearing and the financial support needed to navigate your circumstances.

SUBMITTING A CLAIM

If you are thinking of submitting a claim to DVA for an injury or illness, we recommend getting in touch to access help with the claims process.

There are two main ways to submit a claim, and we can assist with both. You can complete a self-submission via the MyGov website, or a friendly advocate can submit on your behalf via the Ex-Service Organisations (ESO) Portal.

We are available to go through these steps with you, or to check your claim before you submit it. Our advocates can meet you in person at one of our Veterans & Families Wellbeing Hubs, online via Microsoft Teams, or over the phone.

We know that undertaking any kind of claims process can at times be complex and may impact your mental health. If you are in distress, placing a claim for a mental health condition, or have a complex claim, the best option is to contact Veteran Central on 1800 MILVET (1800 645 838) for support.
