The senseless terror act at Bondi Beach yesterday is deeply distressing to all Australians.

RSL Victoria’s thoughts are with the victims, their families and all who witnessed or were affected by the attack.

People across the nation will be experiencing distress from these events, which may include our veteran community.

A statement from the Department of Premier and Cabinet this morning has asked for flags across Australia to be flown at half-mast.

RSL Victoria would like all RSL Sub-Branches across Victoria, where possible, to participate in this mark of respect.

The statement below outlines the protocol:

At the request of the Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, flags across Australia are to be flown at half-mast to honour the victims of the tragic events at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on 14 December 2025. 

As a mark of mourning and respect and in accordance with protocol, the Australian National Flag should be flown at half-mast on Monday, 15 December 2025 from all buildings and establishments occupied by Australian Government departments and affiliated agencies. Other organisations are welcome to participate.
