RSL Victoria Social Media Terms of Use
RSL Victoria’s goal on social media is to inform, engage and educate our community delivering content relevant to veterans’ support, wellbeing, and topical issues. To ensure a safe environment for all members of our community, we ask users to abide by these Terms of Use.
The number and nature of social media services used by RSL Victoria will change over time. The following Terms of Use apply to all social media services in use by RSL Victoria at any given time.
Terms of Use
Any content, views, opinions and/or responses to questions or views uploaded, expressed or submitted by the creators, sponsors, advertisers or users of social media services utilised by RSL Victoria, other than the content provided by RSL Victoria, are solely the views, opinions and responsibility of the person submitting them and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of RSL Victoria. RSL Victoria is not responsible for the content that third parties publish, post, upload, distribute, disseminate or otherwise transmit via social media services.
RSL Victoria recommends that users exercise their own skill and care with respect to their use of information or material posted on social media and that users carefully evaluate the accuracy, currency, completeness and relevance of the material contained on social media sites or any linked site.
RSL Victoria, its staff, agents and contractors accept no liability whatsoever arising from or connected to the currency, accuracy or completeness of any material posted on social media sites and disclaims all responsibility for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of information provided via this vehicle.
Social media services may occasionally be unavailable and RSL Victoria accepts no responsibility for lack of service due to downtime.
Following and sharing
RSL Victoria may engage with third parties by ‘liking’ or ‘sharing’ content across its social media channels. This does not constitute endorsement of content.
Similarly, we may choose to follow other organisations or individuals. Being followed by RSL Victoria social media channels does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Moderation
RSL Victoria reserves the sole right to review or delete any comments it deems inappropriate. Comments including, but not limited to, the following may be deleted by the moderators:
- inappropriate language (e.g. profanity, racial, ethnic or gender-based language as well as offensive abbreviations, or letter substitutions)
abusive comments, personal attacks, (including personality or ideological clashes between posters) or defamatory statements about another social media user, another person, RSL Victoria or its employees and members
anything that could be considered prejudicial, vexatious or offensive
spam, irrelevant comments, or links to appeals, petitions, offers, events, groups, pages, websites, or organisations that are not related to RSL Victoria
comments that violate the privacy of people including RSL Victoria employees and members and;
comments which are illegal or likely to impact RSL Victoria operations.
Any comments in response to our posts that contradict these guidelines may be removed. Repeated inappropriate posts or comments may result in users being blocked from our social media channels.
Links to other websites from RSL Victoria social media platforms are provided as a guide only and such linkage does not constitute endorsement of those sites by RSL Victoria. RSL Victoria is not responsible for the content of external websites nor is it responsible for the content that third parties publish, post, upload, distribute, disseminate or otherwise transmit via social media.

Any repeated violations to our social media Terms of Use will result in the user being blocked or banned from accessing RSL Victoria-managed social media accounts.
