The Art of Sacrifice & The Art of Humanity Exhibition

A powerful collection of artwork honouring Australia’s veterans, service personnel and their families will be presented at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital this November, with The Art of Sacrifice & The Art of Humanity exhibition running from 5–12 November 2026.
Presented by Australian artist George Petrou OAM, the exhibition will showcase 18 works, including four paintings connected with the Cameron Baird VC MG Foundation, alongside veteran portraits and stories, limited edition prints, books, postcards and merchandise.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10am–2pm at the Duckboard Function Centre, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, 300 Waterdale Road, Ivanhoe.
Honouring Service. Inspiring Humanity.
The Art of Sacrifice explores the courage, bravery, valour and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel. Through powerful imagery and personal stories, George Petrou OAM connects Australia’s military history with the experiences and stories of today.
The exhibition provides an opportunity for veterans and their families to come together, reflect and engage with stories of service and sacrifice.
