RSL Victoria congratulates its members recognised in the 2024 Australia Day Honours.

The following members have each received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division.

Eric Charles Chaplin
Eric Charles Chaplin

Eric Charles Chaplin – Service Member, Upper Beaconsfield

Eric has been recognised for his service to veterans, and to the community.

He has devoted much of his time to the RSL and various other service and community groups.

Over the years, Eric has been recognised and awarded for his many and varied contributions.

James Andrew Claven – Affiliate Member, Oakleigh

James has been recognised for his service to veterans, and to community history.

He has served on the Lemnos Gallipoli Commemorative Committee, as well as making significant contributions to several ex-service commemorative activities.

James has also authored multiple articles and texts on various wartime events.

Professionally, James has worked across a number of roles, including as a Senior Ministerial Adviser to the Minister of Veterans Affairs in 2009-2010.

Lois Evelyn Congram – Affiliate Member, Pascoe Vale

Lois has been recognised for her service to veterans and their families, and to the community.

A dedicated RSL volunteer, Lois has served in multiple roles within the ex-service organisation over many years.

She has also volunteered for the Red Cross, and Meals on Wheels.

Lynese Goldie
Lynese Goldie

Lynese Elizabeth Goldie – Affiliate Member, Moe

Lynese has been recognised for her service to veterans and their families.

She has spent decades volunteering for the RSL, including with the Women’s Auxiliary at the Lakes Entrance Sub-Branch, as well as the Returned and Services League Women’s Council.

Lynese has also given of her time to various other community organisations, including the Cancer Council of Australia.

Andy Huu Nguyen – Service Member, Dandenong Cranbourne

Andy has been recognised for his service to veterans.

He has dedicated time to the Vietnam War Memorial of Victoria, the Army of the Republic of Vietnam Rangers Association, as well as various other ex-service initiatives.

He has been a recipient of the Lord Mayor of Melbourne’s Contribution to the Community Award and the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence.
