RSL Victoria stands with RSL Australia on $5,000 allied health limit

August 12, 2026

RSL Victoria stands with the leadership position of RSL Australia on the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) $5,000 Annual Monetary Limit on allied health services for veterans.

RSL Australia, supported by eight other national veteran service organisations, has significant concerns about the Annual Monetary Limit, coming into effect 1 July 2027, and the impact it will have on veterans and their families.

DVA has described the limit as “a threshold for review of clinical effectiveness,” however RSL Australia believes it is a “measure that creates constraints, works against itself and sends veterans and their families a contradictory message about whether the care they need will be there for them.”
