Perfect weather conditions greeted the RSL Active participants for the Melbourne city kayaking tour on Sunday 12 Dec.
18 veterans from across the State put their skills to the test as they negotiated the busy waterways of the Yarra River.
Starting off at the Boatsheds, the group headed upstream to get a feel for the 2 person sea-kayaks under the watchful eye of instructor Paul, from Kayak Melbourne.
Once the basics of staying upright had been established, the group traversed the river and began an eventful paddle downstream towards Victoria Docks.
Taking in the city from water level, Paul, provided an insight into many of the landmarks, bridges and surrounding areas, pausing briefly to allow larger vessels to pass or for the participants to re-group.
The two hour tour was heralded as a great success and requests to do it again have been duly noted!
