Statement on Pascoe Vale RSL Sub-Branch
RSL Victoria State Branch can confirm that the Committee of the Pascoe Vale RSL Sub-Branch Inc. made the decision to enter voluntary administration on Friday 21 February.
The State Branch recognises the difficulty of this decision but supports this action and will continue to support the Sub-Branch as it goes through this process.
In the short-term the Sub-Branch will continue to operate.
The ability to provide services to those veterans, along with the welfare of staff and members, remains a priority for the Sub-Branch and RSL Victoria as we await further information from the administrator.
More broadly, the increase in demand for veteran services at the same time as the increasing costs of running Sub-Branches is a challenge for the RSL.
Demographic shifts are also a factor, some smaller Sub-Branches unite with others simply because the veteran community has moved, reflecting change in the general population.
Our priority will continue to be commemoration of service and the support of veterans and their families.

RSL Victoria
First established in 1916, RSL Victoria’s primary objectives are to provide support to veterans and their families, acknowledge Australian Defence Force service and perpetuate its patriotic duty whilst encouraging conversation and mateship between those who have served and their communities. A crucial role of the RSL is also to appropriately commemorate those who have suffered and died in service of our nation or its allies.
